The ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ Bachelor of Science in Health Education degree program provides students with training on how to promote healthy lifestyle choices in individual and group settings.
Our Bachelor of Science in Health Education program enables students to focus their coursework on interest areas in health education and health promotion in community, clinical, or worksite settings, as well as in health studies, thus preparing them for related industry jobs or graduate programs.
Please note: Some allied health graduate and professional programs will not accept courses if labs are delivered via online instruction. Please refer to specific prospective graduate programs for detailed prerequisite requirements.
In addition to completing all university, college and general degree requirements, students enrolled in the Health Education & Behavior program will have the opportunity to take a number of core courses. These core courses include Personal and Family Health, Community and Environmental Health, Health Education Professional Development and Internship in Health Education along with several specialization courses such as Women’s Health Issues, Trends in International Health.
Note: This major is a pathway for admission to professional health programs upon graduation. Students interested in gaining admission to professional health programs (nursing, occupational therapy, medical school, physician assistant, physical therapy, or pharmacy) will need to work with their academic advisor to make the proper course selections upon admission to the program.

Admissions Requirements
- If you have 0-11 transferable college credits, review theÌýFreshman admissions requirements.
- If you have 12-59 transferable credits, review theÌýLower Division Transfer admission requirements.
Upper division transfer applicantsÌý(students with 60 or more college credits earned) andÌýSecond Bachelor’s degree seeking applicantsÌýshould have at least a 2.0 overall GPA and have completed the following 6 prerequisite courses below with at least a 2.5 GPA:

Additional Admissions Pathways
Applicants may be conditionally admitted to the program if they have a minimum overall 2.0 GPAÌýandÌýhave completedÌý4 of theÌý5Ìýrequired prerequisites (including ´¡²Ô²¹³Ù´Ç³¾²âÌýand PhysiologyÌýwith lab) with a minimum 2.5 GPA in these courses. Students who are conditionally admitted with a missing prerequisite will be required to satisfactorily complete the remaining prerequisite BEFORE beginning the major coursework.
