Admissions Requirements
- If you have 0-11 transferable college credits, review theÌýFreshman admissions requirements.
- If you have 12-59 transferable credits, review theÌýLower Division Transfer admission requirements.
Upper division transfer applicantsÌý(students with 60 or more college credits earned) are considered for Fall admission only. This program is not designed for individuals who want to earn a second bachelor’s degree. Students who already hold a bachelor’s degree are encouraged to explore the College of Education’s award-winningÌý.
Applicants must have an overall GPA of 2.6 or higher, hold an Associate of Arts or have completed a parallel General Education program, and have completed the following common prerequisite course with a grade of B or better:
Introduction to the Teaching Profession (EDF 1005 or EDF 2005)
- A course titled Intro to Education/Intro to Teaching Profession (or anything similar) completed at a private or out-of-state institution may be considered as a substitute for EDF 1005.
The UF College of Education strongly prefers that upper division transfer applicants complete a course inÌýHuman Growth and Development or Developmental Psychology (DEP 2004 and other course numbers) prior to admission.
Additionally, upper division transferÌýapplicants must submit a standardized test score, earned within the ten (10) years preceding the application for teaching certification:
