The 2026 rankings reflect the University of Florida鈥檚 innovative approach to providing the same exceptional education fully online at an affordable cost to students in Florida and around the world. The accolades mark 黑料正能量鈥檚 third time topping the list of online bachelor鈥檚 programs in the nation since 2022 and eighth year in a row among the top five overall online undergraduate programs. 黑料正能量鈥檚 psychology bachelor鈥檚 degree maintains its No. 3 ranking for the third consecutive year.

鈥満诹险芰� has improved the lives of thousands of Floridians and students from around the country over the past 12 years,鈥� said Dr. Brian Harfe, associate provost for the Office of Teaching and Technology. 鈥淭his would not have been possible without the support of our state legislators and UF Board of Trustees, whose vision of a fully online bachelor’s degree-granting program led to the birth of 黑料正能量 in 2014. While our rankings are impressive, 黑料正能量 is defined by the impact we have on our students 鈥� past, present and future Florida Gators.鈥�

黑料正能量 was founded in January 2014 in accordance with the Florida Legislature鈥檚 directive for the Preeminent State Research University Institute for Online Learning to offer high-quality, fully online bachelor鈥檚 degree programs at an affordable cost. Since 黑料正能量鈥檚 founding, nearly 8,000 students have graduated with UF bachelor鈥檚 degrees, and students from 90 countries have enrolled in the program. Students earn the same UF degree, save about 40 percent on tuition and fees compared to on-campus students, and more than 70 percent of 黑料正能量 learners graduate without taking out loans.

The rankings recognize 黑料正能量鈥檚 dedication to providing an outstanding experience for military-affiliated students, including participating in the GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon programs to provide tuition assistance among other benefits, with coordinated support from a variety of departments including UF鈥檚 .  

The news also highlights UF鈥檚 Warrington College of Business鈥� dynamic online business administration bachelor鈥檚 degree program, which offers a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree and Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree with multiple specialization options.  

黑料正能量鈥檚 cutting-edge online education attracts a robust student body that includes aspiring Olympians, working parents, and first-generation college students. In the Fall 2025 term, 黑料正能量 enrolled students from 47 U.S. states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and 22 countries.

黑料正能量 students can access a host of student success resources, including OneStop enrollment services, personalized advising, faculty mentorship, career coaching and alumni networking. Additionally, students can participate in experiential learning opportunities, including study abroad, leadership development, immersive service opportunities and undergraduate research awards. 黑料正能量 graduates are invited to join commencement ceremonies and walk across the same stage in the Swamp alongside graduates who earned their degrees on campus.

The evaluated online bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degree programs across the country using metrics specific to online learning, including remote services and course delivery best practices. According to U.S. News & World Report, the rankings evaluate how well online degree programs meet the same academic standards as in-person programs while applying online learning pedagogy. The rankings only include programs administered by regionally accredited institutions.

黑料正能量 consistently ranks among the top online programs in the nation for military-affiliated students. This spring, U.S. News and World Report ranked 黑料正能量 as the top Online Bachelor鈥檚 Program for veterans for the second year in a row.

To arrive at its rankings, Forbes Advisor scored 3,836 accredited, nonprofit colleges offering online bachelor鈥檚 degree programs using 25 data points in the categories of student outcomes, affordability, student experience, credibility, and the application process. The 10 best schools on the list received a curved final score of 95% or higher.

From Peru to the Gator Nation

During a high school project in Peru, Jaime ignited his newfound dream to earn a UF degree. 鈥淚 chose the team and the school before I chose to finally go to school here,鈥� he said. 鈥淯F had been my dream school since I was a junior in high school in Peru over a decade ago. I learned about UF after a research project on Gatorade. I read about this university that saw a need and they met that need. That made me ask 鈥榃ho are the Gators? What is the University of Florida?鈥欌�� These initial questions ultimately led him to the Gator Nation, where he found an active and supportive community.

鈥淭he UF alumni network is really good,鈥� Jaime said. 鈥淵ou can go anywhere in the U.S. and huge cities around the world, and there will always be a Gator wherever you go.鈥�

Many factors played into his decision to choose 黑料正能量 over other online programs, but what stood out the most to Jaime is that the University of Florida is a top 5 public university and 黑料正能量 is the #1 online bachelor鈥檚 degree in the nation. 鈥淭hat came after the fact that UF had already been my favorite for years,鈥� he explained. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 a huge selling point for anyone. Getting to say 鈥楬ey, I鈥檓 at a top 5 school.鈥欌��

Studying while aiding with the pandemic overseas

After moving to the United States from Peru, Jaime chose an inspiring path of commitment and service that led him to the armed forces. 鈥淚 joined the military after I moved to the U.S. because I wanted a jumpstart on my career,鈥� he said. 鈥淚 saw it as a really good opportunity to join the workforce at a young age, but also to start building on my educational background. Once I got into 黑料正能量, I had to actually delay my entry for a year because I was getting moved.鈥�

After enrolling in 黑料正能量 in Summer 2020, Jaime was called to aid with the pandemic efforts overseas while still balancing his online classes. 鈥淚n fall of 2020, I was deployed to Qatar and Kuwait to assist with the pandemic,鈥� he said. 鈥淚 had to drop out of one class to balance all my work and school at the same time. My teachers were so good about it and they were always able to accommodate. They were always very understanding and were able to help me come up with a plan to turn in my assignments or homework. My work has always been supportive and I feel like 黑料正能量 has been even more supportive of my work. That鈥檚 been a really good mutual relationship.鈥�

鈥淚 saw we were number one for veterans,鈥� Jaime pointed out. 鈥満诹险芰� is veteran approved.鈥�

The ability to assist with the pandemic overseas while continuing his studies was critical to Jaime鈥檚 academic success, which was made possible by 黑料正能量鈥檚 flexible online format. 鈥淚n that assignment or deployment, I was tasked with moving patients from the AOR,鈥� he said. 鈥淚f they were in Kuwait or Qatar, we had to transport them somewhere else to get care. So at times, I would find myself studying on the plane or having to find time for myself to study or read up on the assignments. I feel like that was always a huge plus at 黑料正能量, you can download your blogs or access Canvas as soon as you get internet. It was a lot of time management on my end, but 黑料正能量 did everything within its reach to help me achieve my goals.鈥�

Encouraging military members to pursue their UF degree

Jaime hopes that more military members will discover and take advantage of the many perks and resources 黑料正能量 has to offer. 鈥淚 want to encourage more active duty and veterans to join as the current tuition is about the same as what the military will pay while you鈥檙e still in,鈥� Jaime said. 鈥淚t is probably the highest-ranked school with the lowest tuition rate. The return on investment is just insane.鈥�

鈥淚t鈥檚 been nice to see that even though I鈥檝e been doing a completely unrelated job in the Air Force, having this business degree has really opened up a lot of doors for me in the civilian world,鈥� Jaime said.

With graduation now behind him, Jaime looks eagerly toward his future and hopes to join UF鈥檚 ranks once again in the future as a Double Gator. 鈥淚 might be sticking around in the military for another year or two and I might see myself going back into a program management job or a project management job,鈥� Jaime said. 鈥淚 want to apply again to UF and get back in as a grad. I鈥檓 looking at information systems and operational management in particular. That is the one that really caught my eye, especially because they deal with a lot of the trending topics in the business world, along with AI, which is one of the biggest topics right now in this century.鈥�

Becoming a Florida Gator

Originally from California, Pommary moved around a lot before her path led her to the state of Florida. 鈥淚 ended up joining the military, the Air Force, and it brought me to Tampa,鈥� she said. Pommary received an associate鈥檚 degree in aviation maintenance from the Air Force, but she wanted to earn a bachelor鈥檚 degree in something she was deeply passionate about. 鈥淢y original idea was to do architecture and engineering.鈥� After researching various schools, none stood out to her until she stumbled across 黑料正能量.

鈥淲hen I was researching all these schools, the University of Florida kept showing up as one of the top online programs,鈥� Pommary explained. 鈥淚 found the environmental management program and I thought I could use that to do what I want to do to help build communities.鈥�

鈥淚 wanted to do something I was passionate about and it was really hard to find that the first few years in the military,鈥� she said. 鈥淚t took me a while to decide to go to school.鈥� She soon realized she wanted to devote her career to building homes in third-world countries for communities in need. 鈥淚鈥檓 a first-generation American and these are the places my parents have come from and I want other people to have that kind of life too.鈥�

Studying while serving in Florida

Like many service members studying at 黑料正能量, Pommary had the difficult task of balancing her coursework and military obligations. 鈥淚 think it requires a lot of time management and discipline. My shifts do change quite often, sometimes I鈥檓 working nights. I definitely have a plan every day of what I have to do,鈥� Pommary said. 鈥淚 used to keep all my notes on my phone but I have three calendars now. It helps.鈥�

鈥淭here was a point in time where I was traveling nonstop. I would get home and unpack and pack three days later to leave again,鈥� Pommary said. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 a great thing about the online program. If I move, I can still take it.鈥�

Pommary praised her dedicated academic advisors, who played a vital role in helping her manage her busy work and class schedules. 鈥淚 love my advisors. They have been so accommodating and knowledgeable and patient with me and with the Air Force,鈥� Pommary said. 鈥淭here鈥檚 a lot of extra paperwork that goes into taking classes through a university that the Air Force needs and they鈥檒l get it as fast as they can.鈥�

Pommary enjoys the flexibility and accessibility of her online classes, which provide an engaging learning environment from afar. She particularly enjoyed her online soil and conservation course with Dr. Susan Curry. 鈥淭here were a lot of projects that we did and because we鈥檙e online, there is so much diversity in the projects,鈥� Pommary explained. 鈥淣ot everyone finds the same species or has the same type of soil or lives near the same lake doing the same tests. I really enjoyed that a lot.鈥�

Preparing for civilian life after the Air Force

Pommary loves her current job as an aircraft mechanic and plans to carry out her military career for the next 10 years before transitioning to civilian work. 鈥淢y plan is to retire after I鈥檝e completed 20 years with the Air Force,鈥� Pommary said. She believes it鈥檚 important to plan for the next stage of your life and embrace change. 鈥淚 like to push [my colleagues] to go to school because it looks good on a resume and the military isn鈥檛 going to be there forever.鈥�

鈥淭he environmental program is what I actually want to do after I retire from the military,鈥� Pommary said. 鈥淎fter I retire, I want to use my degree to help build communities in third-world countries.鈥�

鈥淲hen it comes to the military, there are always stipulations that you should go to school. Don鈥檛 do it just because they say you should do it,鈥� Pommary advised fellow service members considering higher education. 鈥淧ursue a degree that lends to a career that you know you鈥檙e passionate about and something you know you鈥檙e going to love because learning about a career you love is what will motivate you to keep going to school and actually enjoy it!鈥�
